Set up in five minutes

Mirrage Setup is a small app you run once on a computer with your iPhone plugged in. It pairs your phone, puts your licence into Mirrage and walks you through the two things only you can tap on the phone. After that, your iPhone never needs the computer again.

1. Get your licence key. It’s on the page you see straight after buying, and in your receipt email. Copy it - Mirrage Setup fills it in automatically if it’s on your clipboard.

2. Download Mirrage Setup from mirrage.app/download and open it. The first time takes one extra click - see the guide for macOS, Windows or Linux.

3. Plug your iPhone in with its cable and unlock it. If it asks Trust This Computer?, tap Trust and enter your passcode.

4. Follow the screen. Setup moves on by itself as each step completes:

   • checks Mirrage is on your iPhone - if it isn’t yet, follow step 1 of manual setup and Setup carries on by itself the moment it appears;
   • shows you where Developer Mode is and waits while your iPhone restarts;
   • pairs Mirrage with your phone and hands it your licence.

5. Unplug and open Mirrage. It’s already paired and activated. It asks you to switch on LocalDevVPN (free on the App Store) - then pick your first place and you’re there.

Why a cable?

Apple only allows a computer to pair with an iPhone over a physical connection. It’s needed for this one step only - everything afterwards happens on the phone.

What leaves your computer

Mirrage Setup runs locally. The only thing it sends anywhere is your licence key, to check it’s valid. Your pairing file goes straight from your computer into the Mirrage app over the cable.
